Friday, January 13 As from today the gates of the Park and public use areas are reopened to visitors, allowing normal vehicular transit on all roads.

 

The operation of tourism services associated with the road network will be allowed, according to their planning and logistics capabilities. The mountain paths affected by the fire will remain closed, whilst the safety assessment evaluation lasts and the ecological restoration actions begin.

The accesses enabled are by Laguna Amarga, Laguna Azul, Sarmiento Gateway and the CONAF Administration ( which is reached by the road to the Cueva del Milodón), and it will be possible to travel on the roads enabled for vehicles, through which up to Guardería of Lago Grey can be accessed.

  Enabled trekking circuits:

 

 

Trek to base Las Torres, aprox duration of 8 hours – round trip

Trek Sector Torres to Sector Cuernos, aprox duration of 5 hours

Trek Sector Torres to Serón, aprox duration of 4 hours

Trek Sector Serón to Sector Dickson, aprox duration of 6 hours

Trek Sector Dickson to Sector Los Perros, aprox duration of 5 hours

Circuito Laguna Azul – Victorina – Dickson. Only accesible with specialized guide.

In addition, as from Monday the trail that goes to the British and Italian camping will be enabled and the lodging in Los Cuernos will be maintained.

CONAF and the institutions participating in the extended attack command will remain in place, in tasks of settlement of the affected area and pre suppression in those sectors not affected by the fire.

Friday, January 6 Closed Accesses: Lake Sarmiento and Rio Serrano accesses must remain closed until the fire is completely extinguished and there is no risk for visitors or fire brigade operations. This will be evaluated by CONAF experts and by the administration of Torres del Paine National Park. This means that accesses are closed and there will be no visits to Grey Lake, Pehoe Lake, Sarmiento Lake, Pehoe camping area, Explora Hotel, and Hotel Lago Grey. Camping Torres and Valle del Asencio will also not be awailable and for the moment, Valle del Francés is closed.
  Access to the park: The open accesses are Portería Laguna Amarga and Portería Laguna Azul. Access is open to 90 kms of trekking trails. Visitors visiting the park by car can reach the Hosteria de las Torres, Paine Falls, Laguna Amarga and Laguna Azul.
  Available Accommodation Sectors: Refugio, Cabins & Camping Los Cuernos, Hotel Las Torres, Refugio Torre Central, Camping Torres, Refugio & Camping El Chileno, Refugio Torre Norte, Camping Serón, Camping Dickson, Camping Los Perros.
  Enabled trekking circuits: Trek to Bases las Torres (8 horas hours) - Trek Sector Torres to Sector Cuernos (5 hours) - Trek Sector Torres to Serón (4 hours) - Trek Sector Serón to Sector Dickson (6 hours) - Trek Sector Dickson to Sector Los Perros (5 hours) - Circuit Laguna Azul – Victorina – Dickson. Only with specialized guide.
  Available Sectors: Portería Laguna Amarga, Sector Los Cuernos, Sector Camping Serón, Sector Laguna Azul - Victorina – Dickson, Sector Perros.

Wednesday, January 4 Special measures: CONAF will take special control and information measures for people entering the open areas of the park.
  Access routes available: the available access routes are Laguna Azul and Laguna Amarga. This will enable the north and northeast areas of the park for the use of motorized vehicles and pedestrians in the mountain area. The reopened area makes a total of 100,000 hectares.
  Opening hours: 07:30 hrs. – 21.00 hrs.
  Health alerts: there are no health alerts for the use of water within the park.
